Here are some interesting facts about the original version:
- Caverns of Gink is the first game Tony Ginko created. He was just 15 years old.
- The character will fall when the color of the pixel just below his feet is black. As a result, it’s possible to land on the arrow, which is made up of green pixels. The character will be suspended briefly until the arrow passes.
- When the character is against the right side of the screen, the arrow will pass through without hurting him. This is a feature that allows the player to take a break from jumping.
- The game was hacked by someone named Bob Robert (probably a pseudonym.) The intro screen and some other text was modified, including the release date (set back from 1985 to 1983) to make it appear as if Caverns of Gink was not the original version.
